Time Will Tell The Time To Tell

Here is my new EP. You can download it for FREE. I recommend downloading these songs and then to take them with you on an Adventure. Whether that means a long drive, a bike ride or a walk around the neighborhood, please listen and let the music take you to wherever you want to be. Don't let these songs just live on your computer. I really hope you enjoy it and please tell me about your adventure and how the music made you feel when you come back.

Thank you for all your support.

NEW BALANCE

Hey Everyone,

Let me just first say that this all would not have happen without my great friend Stebs of Paper Fortress for vouching for me to do the music for New Balance. I am so grateful for his support and thank him. I'd like to also thank Arnold Worldwide, Chris Jennings of PARQCM and New balance for supporting me in what I love to do. As some of you might know already, Stebs is the cool dude who filmed and edited all these videos and then they were sent to me and I got to compose the music.

After Stebs' journey was about to end around August (I think) from traveling to Maine, New York, Flimby England and London England to do all the filming, I got to start composing in September. I believe our deadline was in the middle of October and they wanted to produce 6 videos and 5 were to be composed by me. To make a long story short, there were a lot of sleepless nights and lots of rewrites and new songs being constantly written. I think at some days I was writting and trying to record 2 songs a day. I think in the end I wrote 12 songs and each song had about 3 different versions. It was a crazy time but I loved every second of it. I lost a lot of sleep and missed a lot of work from my day job but it all paid off. I am so honored and humbled to be a part of these videos and I thank each and everyone of you for supporting me in doing what I love.

"NIGHTS" - FILM PRODUCTION DAY 1

Hey everybody,

So I have been working on a short film that I wrote and yesterday was our first day of production. It's been awhile since I've made a film and excited to be behind the lens again. I'm directing as well as scoring this film. It's a way for me to keep working on scoring films because that's what I love to do. My good friend David is playing the Main Character and last night we filmed in his house for the intro of the film. It was the first time I showed him the screenplay and we got straight to work. As we were setting up his bedroom for filming the opening scene I realized I forgot my CD Player for one of the scenes. We searched all over his house but couldn't find one. Who thought such a device that seemed to be used alot in my Middle and High School days, be so hard to find. My head was so set on having a CD Player that I couldn't have it any other way so we actually went out to go buy one at where else other than WAL MART

David with the CD PLAYER

After getting the CD Player we headed back to David's house to start filming. I had some really cool gadgets like this camera glider that my friend Phil Forteza made. Phil is also an amazing filmmaker and martial artist and I scored his short film KAZOKU: Brotherhood that was released Last year.

PRODUCTION STILL

PRODUCTION STILL

We finished filming around midnight and started planning our next date to film. Once I finish filming a couple more scenes I will be able to cut a trailer for all of you to see. I can't wait! Making a film is a lot different than writting a song and that's why I love the challenge but it can be frustrating at times. When I write a song I can finish it usually in the same day or next because all of my ideas come right away and all the resources are in the studio. And the song is usually only 3 - 4 min. long. It's like cooking where you cook the food and you get to enjoy it right away.

In a film there are so many other factors and it's sometimes not a thing you can finish in a day or two. I have to film over a number of days in many different locations, hope the weather is the way it calls for the scene and it has to be at a certain time that we have to start shooting to get the right shot. I have to film, color correct, edit, re-edit, do sound, score and fix things to make sure it's the best film it can be. It seems a lot more complicated than just recording a song where I have all of my resources in my studio but this is what I love to do and I'm already having an amazing time. I can't wait to show you some of the footage because it looks awesome.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far and hope to hear what you all think of the film.

Go For It! NIGHTS Short Film Pre-Production

Hey everyone,

So I haven't released anything in awhile only because I realized sometimes I can't force inspiration. But I sure can try to create it. For the past couple months I've been working on a EP entitled NIGHTS. The inspiration to NIGHTS was my love for aimlessly driving and looking at beautiful scenery. It's my escape from reality. Have you ever put on a record that just set the mood and just drive or listen to a song that just made you want to drop whatever you're doing and go on an adventure. Well that's what this EP is to me. It's about the music I'm inspired to listen to while going out on adventures and escaping my day to day life. So simple enough concept to make an EP but I couldn't get the inspiration to write. I realized I was working a lot at my dead end job and it was becoming stressfull. I haven't really been out on any adventures lately because I haven't made time for it. I've been so stagnent trying to finish this EP that I realized that I was approaching it all the wrong way. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks too and it came from a dream.

But before I talk about the dream, the first thing that came to my mind was that I love film and filmmaking. I've made short films for myself before and I thought maybe I should start doing it again. Also when I have a film in front of me, I automatically start thinking of music that will go well with it. BOOM! I've created a source for my inspiration. At least I think I am going to. So in my dream I saw myself just driving towards the sunset and I was listening to the music from the NIGHTS EP. I woke up and thought to myself, I can turn this EP into a short film. I will shoot, edit and then I can score it which will hopefully be the easy part. I told my wife about it and she got really excited. I'm so grateful to have her love and support. That day I wrote the whole story and philosophy of my character in the park while I watched the ducks scatter around looking for food and I couldn't be more excited. I then told my friend about it a couple days later and asked him to play the main character and he was totally stoked to do it. All of a sudden I felt so motivated and inspired to make this film.

Now what's really funny is that I am at a STARBUCKS right now writing this as I wait for my car to get fixed. I just finished writing the whole outline to the film and I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day focusing on the screenplay. I always see people at starbucks working on screenplays and I never thought I'd be doing it. One of my good friends works here and I told him about the short film and he got really stoked about it and it's gotten me even more fired up that I thought I share with you this whole process with me.

I'm grateful to have such a lovely and supporting wife, wonderful family, and awesome friends, and when I say friends, I mean all of you who are reading this. Sure maybe we've never met but there's a friendship through music that I truely feel. I am very fortunate to have all of you supporting me and I hope you all have a wonderful day

Kazoku: Brotherhood Original Score

About a year ago I scored a short film titled KAZOKU: BROTHERHOOD. It was my first experience writing music to a real film and I am very proud of the music I’ve written for it. Now you can listen and download it for free. Also if you like to see the short film go Here
